Hattori Hanzo High-Carbon Shears

An in-depth look at our complete line of high-carbon scissors

Hanzo Family Shears in hands

High-Carbon Shears Series

Hattori Hanzo high carbon shears and texturizers are scissors without equal. Considered the finest cutting tools on the planet, Hattori Hanzo high carbon shears are crafted from a blend of high carbon steel that is especailly intended for the rigors of cutting dry hair. While many of our shears are wet cutting scissors with dry cutting properties, our high carbon shears are built from the ground up to tackle dry hair every single day. Due to their exquisite metal composition, their edges stay sharper longer with less down time due to sharpening.

For example, take the Hattori Hanzo HHP Pai Mei. Like a high-end sports car, the Pai Mei will outperform almost every other shear on the market. Blends of cast or forged steels make up the composition of most shears. However, we utilize advanced production techniques in the creation of the Pai Mei. We construct each HHP from condensed microparticles of nano powder steel. The result is a scissor of unparalleled strength and cutting ability. The unique design of the Pai Mei boasts a nearly flat thumb blade with a rounded spine, combined with a curved cutting blade carrying a classic 800mm radius, creating a shear of extreme versatility and capability. Ideal for perimeter lines and bobs, the Pai Mei will cut a perfectly straight line through even the densest sections–saving the stylist precious time on every haircut.

Or consider the Hattori Hanzo Shears HH1 Kamikaze. We developed the HH1 for dry hair with a strong emphasis on dry slide cutting. What sets the Kamikaze apart from the rest of the high-carbon line is the exaggerated bevel arc on the blade. Crafted with a very wide blade, the HH1 pushes through thick, coarse dry hair. And because the design of the Kamikaze emphasizes pushing hair through as the scissor closes–this shear will not cut a sharp line. The HH1 is perfect for the stylist who does a lot of dry finishing work and dry detail work such as channel cutting, slide cutting, carving, face-framing, and point cutting. The Kamikaze is especially useful for curly-haired clients because stylists do not usually cut sharp lines in dry hair–and many stylists cut curly hair dry.

And unlike most shear companies, Hattori Hanzo even has a line of high carbon steel texturizers! Whether you choose the handle of the HHV Mamba set of texturizers or prefer the style of the HH88 Eighty-Eights, we don’t just have one or two…but SIX high carbon texturizers that can effortlessly blast through the most difficult blending and weight removal tasks with ease.
