Your California Privacy Disclosures

California Privacy Rights

California consumers have a right to knowledge, access, and deletion of their personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act. California consumers also have a right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information by a business and a right not to be discriminated against for exercising one of their California privacy rights. Hattori Hanzo Shears does not sell the personal information of California consumers and does not discriminate in response to privacy rights requests.

Hattori Hanzo Shears provides notice of our privacy practices in our Privacy Policy at https://hanzo.com/privacy-policy The Privacy Policy includes what personal information is collected, the source of the personal information, and the purposes of use, as well as whether Hattori Hanzo Shears discloses that personal information and if so, the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed.

California consumers with a Hattori Hanzo Shears account can exercise their rights directly or through an authorized agent by emailing privacy@hanzo.com to make the request.

In making your request, we require (and California law authorizes) the following information from you:

  • Please explain why you believe Hattori Hanzo Shears may hold your personal data. Describe any interactions you have had with Hattori Hanzo Shears that you think may help us in locating relevant data.

If you are a California consumer without a Hattori Hanzo Shears account and you or your authorized agent would like to exercise your privacy rights, those requests can also be made to privacy@hanzo.com providing the same information listed above that we request from California consumers with Hattori Hanzo Shears accounts.

If you do not have a Hattori Hanzo Shears account, we will ask you for additional information which we consider necessary to verify your identity for security and to prevent fraud. This information may include—but is not limited to—name, contact information, and information related to any transaction or your relationship with Hattori Hanzo Shears, but the specific information requested may differ depending on the circumstances of your request for your security and to protect privacy rights.

If we delete your personal information, we will both render certain personal information about you permanently unrecoverable and also de-identify certain personal information.

Right to Request Disclosure of Information Sold

Hattori Hanzo Shears did not sell any personal information during the past 12 months. However, had we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose during the past 12 months, you would have the right to request that we disclose, upon verifying your identity:

    • The categories of personal information that we collected about you.
    • The categories of personal information about you that we sold and the categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold.
    • The categories of personal information that we disclosed about you for a business purpose.

Right to Request Deletion

You have the right to request that we delete your personal information that we collected from you and retained unless one of the following exceptions applies. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:

  • Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between us and you.
  • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
  • Debug computer programs to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
  • Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights or exercise another right provided for by law.
  • Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 seq.).
  • Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information’s deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research’s achievement if you have previously provided informed consent.
  • Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
  • Comply with a legal obligation.
  • Use that information internally in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided it.

Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Information. 

We did not sell any personal information during the past 12 months. However, had we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose during the past 12 months, you would have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information and request that we stop selling your personal information and refrain from doing so in the future.

Non-Discrimination

You have the right not to be discriminated against because you exercised any of your CCPA rights, except as permitted by the CCPA. Accordingly, we may not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
