Information We Collect

We collect information about you in a variety of ways depending on how you interact with us, our websites, products, and Services. Information collection can be collected directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when you make a purchase or contact us directly. Information You Provide Voluntarily.

  • Identifiers and Contact Information.   • Payment and Delivery. We may also collect information such as your address and payment information when you make a purchase or participate in a shear test drive. In these instances, your information allows us to complete a transaction you have requested.
  • Employment Applications. If you contact us to seek career information or when you submit an application for a position with us, we may ask for information required for the hiring process, which may include, among other things, your Social Security number. Such information is a requirement for hiring.

We collect the personal information we need to allow us to communicate with you and/or provide the Services or product you have sought. Unless specifically requested and you use the method that we identify for such purpose, we request that you not send us any confidential or sensitive information. Our payments are processed through a third-party payment provider, hosted on our check out page. HANZO does not collect or store your payment information.

Information We Collect Automatically.

  • Performance and Log Data. We use technology to monitor how you use our website, which we use to make our website operate efficiently and to understand how to make our website work best for you. In addition to showing us about your preferences, this also helps us detect fraud. Our servers automatically record information created by your use of our Services, which may include information such as, but not limited to, your IP address, browser type, operating system, command line information, diagnostic information related to the Services (i.e., crash activity reports), the referring web page, pages visited, location, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, and search terms. For instance, when we send you an email, we may collect certain information including the nature of the email, whether you opened our email, and the action you took upon receipt of our email (e.g. whether you opened it or deleted it).

  • HANZO Affiliated Entities. We may share information with our corporate affiliates (e.g., parent company, sister companies, subsidiaries, of other companies under common control.) Since HANZO is a global organization and provides a global service, we may share users’ information with our offices and data centers throughout the world, for example, in the United States and Canada.
  • Our Service Providers. We share information with our service providers who may use your information for purposes such as helping us to administer our website, conduct surveys, provide technical support, process payments, conduct marketing, and assist in the fulfillment of orders.

How We Keep Your Information Secure

Retention

We retain information about users for as long as necessary to perform the activities described in this Privacy Notice, or where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so, such as for legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the information, the purposes for which we obtained the information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, as well as applicable legal requirements.

When our legitimate business need for retaining your personal information ceases to exist, we will either delete or anonymize our information so that it can no longer be attributed to a particular individual. To the extent residual information remains within our databases, back-ups or other records and we are unable to anonymize it we will isolate such information from further processing until deletion is possible. Note that, as required by law, we will require you to prove your identity. We may verify your identity by phone call or email. Following a request, we will use reasonable efforts to supply, correct or delete personal information about you in our files.
