Biography

Nico C. Merritt started his artistic career as a painter and glass blower during his high school years in the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes region of Western NY. Good with is hands, he explored a career as a technician and artist…and after discovering hairdressing, he never looked back! Growing quickly in his skills, Nico developed an affinity for scissors and accumulated all the knowledge he could about scissor handling, control, and technique. Honing his skills as an educator, he travels the country teaching cutting education; giving people not only a tool to use, but a skill set to use them properly. Now known nationally as The Scissor Guy, Nico finds a warm home with Hattori Hanzo Shears among his scissor brethren in arms—ready to wield the sword of creativity and carve his way into the hearts of hairdressers everywhere.
