THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE MARI: Creative, Fun, Humble

Mari Pak has always allowed her morals and values to lead her life, and more importantly, her passions. A South Korean born in Orange County, LA, Mari has a diverse background that has allowed her to find pride in her roots and beginnings. As a follower of Christ, Mari lives and works with bible verse Mark 12:31 always in mind, “the second is this: love thy neighbor as yourself. Her hair journey started in junior high school, where Mari’s friends would ask her for help with their makeup and hair. Although Mari was inexperienced, she realized that her efforts made her friends feel good about themselves. From that moment on, Mari knew that she wanted to help people feel good about themselves and build confidence. After working in some of the best salons in her area, Mari has now opened a salon. Mariboo is a place where she strives to create a safe space for all her clients to feel loved, cared for, and respected. It’s a place where Mari can work with each client on their hair needs to give them the most customized style they’ve ever had.

Favorite Hanzo Shear: HHV-5.5

I honestly love all my Hanzo shears, it’s pretty difficult to pick out my favorite. The one I’d say I use the most is my 5.5” Mamba because it gives me fine precision cutting.

Q & A With Mari

Favorite platform Hair Sylist?

Luna and Shelby with Hanzo because I actually had a chance to hang out with them in real life and actually found out they’re pretty cool and real people with normal lives. Not to mention they’re awesome at hair.

Who inspires you?

I follow our top tier leaders like Nikki Le from the Statements project via Facebook to get advice in what we as professional hairdressers should do through these tough times. Her and her team are working 12-14 hours a day to answer questions about how to survive these times as hairdressers and salon owners. It’s great to have guidelines and a understanding through this madness. It’s never too late to gear up and push reset if you already haven’t yet.

What is your favorite movie?

Disney movies, Love being a kid at heart.

Favorite Ice cream flavor?

Anything gelato or Fried ice cream.

The most exciting thing you’ve ever done?

Hiking up mountains in my shoes has been a journey. Finally reaching my goal destination, at this current time in life, I am able to fill my lungs with fresh, crisp, natural air. With it being in both my career and spiritually, I am now able to breathe again. The most exciting, yet scary, thing in my life has been opening my own business and taking control of my life. This has been one of the best chapters of life that GOD has given me. I couldn’t ask for it at a better and more perfect time.

Exploring Korea every year when I was a kid and spending the summer with my family.
