THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE DEE: Motivated, Eclectic, Persistent

Dee has been working in the hair industry for ten years; seven years ago, she received her license. She got started in the industry by experimenting on her own, friends, and families’ hair in high school. Then she started her first job cleaning a hair salon once a week, which showed her what she could expect from working in a salon. From there, she worked full time for one year after high school to save up for hair school. Once Dee was able to attend, she started looking at salons to reception during hair school. As time moved forward, Dee found herself looking for her salon home as a stylist. She worked at MANY salons as a cleaner, receptionist, and stylist before choosing. She found her family and worked with a fantastic bunch of women at Cost Cutters. Dee learned so much about herself, how to communicate with the general public, skills, timing, how to do all textures of hair. She knew how capable she was by working at a chain salon. For about a year, Dee worked and built until it was time for her to rent a chair. From there, she now owns, The Mur Salon. Dee will always say hair saved her life in so many ways because her life was not on the right path before her first salon job. She can now be herself, judgment free, grow, create, and surround herself with like-minded stylists who also have similar goals and values.

“My favorite Hanzo Shear is the 13T because it makes my job so much easier on my hands and they cut down so much extra time. I love a good chunking shear because they can be used in so many different ways for different effects on the hair depending on the texture of hair.”
