- Service Contract
The Stay Sharp Program is a 12-month service contract paid over 12 equal payments of either $15 for the Standard subscription which includes (4) sharpenings annually, or $25 for Stay Sharp Plus which includes (8) sharpenings annually. Tax is applicable in some states.
A $15 or $25 payment will be made on the date of activation to initiate the Program enrollment. Monthly payments are processed each month thereafter based on your date of enrollment. The Program auto-renews every year unless you opt out of the auto renewal before the yearly anniversary date of enrollment. To adjust your renewal preferences you can contact the Hattori Hanzo Customer Service Department (916-790-5291), or log on to your personal My Account page.
Upon activation, (4) sharpenings for the Standard program, or (8) sharpenings for the Plus program are automatically credited to your account, and upon subsequent auto-renewal of the contract. Hattori Hanzo Shears will sharpen any brand of shear for the service contract.
Hattori Hanzo Shears reserves the right to deny sharpening any shear based on age, quality and condition.
In the event that the credit card on file declines, we will attempt to contact you for new payment information. If after 60 days from the payment due date no payment is obtained, you will lose program benefits and your subscription will be cancelled. A charge equal to the retail cost of services rendered (minus prior subscription payments) will be placed on your account, and you will be unable to restart your Stay Sharp subscription until that charge is paid.If the default credit card is updated after the charge, Hanzo reserves the right to run that card for the outstanding balance.
Hattori Hanzo Shears does not guarantee a local representative for every Program member. If unavailable, you may contact Customer Service to place a sharpening order and request loaner shears to be mailed. A complimentary postage-paid shipping label with tracking will be issued. Loaner shears must be returned within 45 days, otherwise Hanzo reserves the right to charge retail cost of the demo(s) with a 10% down payment and the remainder amortized over 6 payments.
Notifications of this potential charge will be sent after 30 and 45 days.
After 12 months and upon completion of payment terms, a credit will be issued to your account: $100 off a single shear purchase, or $200 off a multi-shear purchase. The credit is valid for 45 days, only one per order. The credit may be gifted, but if transferred it is only valid for $100.
Stay Sharp members receive a minimum 20% off all Hanzo Apparel and Accessories. Contact your sales rep or customer service to apply the discount (not recognized on hanzo.com orders).

- Lost Or Stolen Shears
Only one claim for lost or stolen shears may be submitted per year. Customers must file a police report and provide a valid claim number with warranty replacement request. A $150 (plus applicable tax) replacement cost per lost or stolen shear will be charged to the customer prior to shipment of any replacement shears. Hattori Hanzo Shears, Inc. will cover non-Hanzo brand shears with valid proof of purchase as long as the shears have been sharpened by Hanzo. Non-Hanzo brand shears will be replaced with a Hanzo of like-kind, valued at a similar price point. Hattori Hanzo Shears reserves the right to determine which models are considered like-kind and of similar valuation.
- Damaged Shears
Only two claims for damaged shears may be submitted per year. The damaged shear must be sent to Hattori Hanzo for inspection before a claim can be approved. Once approved, a $150 (plus applicable tax) replacement cost per shear will be charged to the customer prior to shipment of any replacement shear. All replacement shears will be of like-kind and quality. No other products or accessories are covered under the program. Hattori Hanzo Shears reserves the right to deny any claim and to fully investigate any claim of lost, stolen or damaged shears.
