Born and raised in the North End of Boston he was brought up to value family with a strong sense of community. Picking up his first pair of clippers at age 14 to cut his grandfather’s hair in his grandmother’s kitchen he became obsessed. After graduating high school he followed in his father’s footsteps and brought to fruition his childhood passion of earning a license as a barber.
Shortly thereafter – he enlisted in the US military and fulfilled his responsibility to his country. While on tour in Afghanistan his barber kit and tools were never too far away and he continued honing his skills under the harshest of conditions. In war there wasn’t much under his control and he found solace in the ability to positively impact morale for his brothers in arms.
Upon returning from duty he was offered a position at Boston Barber and Tattoo Co. According to ESPN Magazine this was where the Bruins shaved their legendary playoff beards and got a fresh cut following their first Stanley Cup in 39 years. Since then, players from the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, and many other celebrities have been known to frequent this particular shop in hopes of recreating that magic for themselves. Ricky has personally attended to Brad Marchand,John Liles,Chris Kelly from the Bruins. Boston Celtics Center Aaron Baynes , as well as Instagram celebrity @Fatboysse. As a military veteran turned Chief Quality Officer of Boston’s hottest Barber/Tattoo Parlor he prides himself on precision and dedication for the industry. He humbly remains teachable but he has a passion for giving back sharing his knowledge out of pure love for the craft.
